30TH ANNIVERSARY OF STRAIT OUT OF THE BOX SWEEPSTAKES (“SWEEPSTAKES”) BEGINS AT 12:00:01 A.M. CENTRAL TIME (“CT”) ON SEPTEMBER 26, 2025 AND ENDS AT 11:59:59 P.M. CT ON OCTOBER 17, 2025 (“ENTRY PERIOD”).
DO NOT ENTER THIS SWEEPSTAKES IF YOU DO NOT RESIDE WITHIN THE FORTY-EIGHT (48) CONTIGUOUS UNITED STATES INCLUDING THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA. ENTRY INTO THIS SWEEPSTAKES CONSTITUTES YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF THESE OFFICIAL RULES (“Rules”). SWEEPSTAKES IS GOVERNED BY u.s. lAW AND IS Subject to all federal, state and local laws.
SPONSOR: Music Corporation of American, a division of UMG Recordings, Inc.,, 222 2nd Ave S, STE 2200, Nashville TN, 37201 (“Sponsor” or “MCA”) is solely responsible for all aspects of the Sweepstakes.
HOW TO ENTER: You may enter the Sweepstakes in one (1) of two (2) ways. You may enter by visiting
straitoutofthebox.com (“Website”) during the Sweepstakes Entry Period and following all onscreen entry instructions to i) follow George Strait and create/save your custom playlist via Spotify music service (“Service Provider”) and completing the entry form. After providing your first name, last name, email address, city, zip code, country and clicking “Submit,” you are officially entered into the pool of eligible entries (“Spotify Entry”); or ii) you may enter by clicking “No thanks, I just want to enter the sweepstakes” and following the onscreen instructions to provide your first name, last name, email address, city, zip code, country and clicking “Submit.” After clicking “Submit,” you are officially entered into the pool of eligible entries (“Online Entry”). To obtain up to two (2) bonus entries, you can sign up to receive email updates from George Strait by checking the appropriate sign-up box, and/or sign up to receive email updates from MCA by checking the appropriate sign-up box. Once properly checked and submitted, the information you supplied via your Spotify Entry or your Online Entry will be collectively considered and referred to herein as your “Bonus Entries.” Only three (3) Entries per person regardless of Entry method. If you do not have a Spotify account, you may visit www.spotify.com and create an account for free and sign into your newly created Service Provider account to enter.
By participating in the Sweepstakes, each Entrant is confirming they have read and agree to comply with: (i) these official rules (“Rules”); (ii) Sponsor’s terms of use, located at http://privacypolicy.umusic.com/terms/ ; and (iii) all other Sweepstakes requirements. Upon submitting your Entry, you will qualify for a chance to win the prize detailed below.
Limit: Three (3) Entries per person. In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of the person submitting an Entry, the Entry will be deemed to be submitted by the primary account holder of the email address associated with the Entry. Entries by any method other than set forth herein are void. Any use of automated or programmed methods of effecting Entry is prohibited.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Sweepstakes is open only to persons eighteen (18) years or older who are legal residents of, and physically located within, the forty-eight (48) contiguous United States including the District of Columbia (collectively, “Territory”) at time of Entry. Entrants cannot be employees of Sponsor, George Strait (“Artist”) or their respective parent, subsidiary, affiliated or successor companies; or the advertising, promotional or fulfillment agencies of any of them (individually and collectively, “Entities”); nor members of their households or immediate families. Neither the Entities nor any of their respective officers, directors, shareholders, employees, agents or representatives (individually and collectively, “Releasees ”) are responsible for Entries from persons residing, or physically located, outside the Territory; Entries that are altered, delayed, deleted, destroyed, forged, fraudulent, improperly accessed, inaccurate, incomplete, interrupted, irregular in any way, late, lost, misdirected, multiple, non-delivered stolen, tampered with, unauthorized, unintelligible or otherwise not in compliance with these Rules; or for lost, interrupted or unavailable satellite, network, server, Internet and/or Service Provider or other connections; telephone or cell phone text messaging availability or accessibility; miscommunications; failed computer, satellite, telephone or cable transmissions, lines or technical failure; jumbled, corrupted, scrambled, delayed or misdirected transmissions; computer hardware or software or text message malfunctions, failures, technical errors or difficulties; unauthorized human intervention; traffic congestion; undeliverable emails or text messages resulting from any form of active or passive email or text filtering; insufficient space in entrant’s email or text account to receive email or text; or other errors of any kind, whether due to electronic, mechanical or human error or other causes; even if caused by the negligence of any of the Releasees. Each of such potential Entries will be disqualified and any attempt by a person to use multiple cell phone accounts to register more than once may result in disqualification at Sponsor’s sole discretion. Void in AK, HI and where prohibited or restricted by law. Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws.
PRIZE: One (1) Strait Out Of The Box prize package will be awarded. Prize package consists of the first four (4) volumes of the Strait Out Of the Box: Vinyl Collection (one (1) copy of Volume 1, approximate retail value (“ARV”): $29.99; one (1) copy of Volume 2, ARV: $29.99; one (1) copy of Volume 3, ARV: $29.99, and one (1) copy of Volume 4, ARV: $29.99); one (1) Strait Out Of the Box: Part 1 4CD box set, ARV: $34.99, and one (1) Cowboys And Dreamers framed belt buckle, ARV: 95.00. Total ARV of prize: $249.95. All taxes, gratuities, incidentals, service charges or other expenses not specified herein are not included and are the winner’s sole responsibility. Arrangements for the fulfillment of the prize will be made by Sponsor and/or its designated agent. Certain restrictions may apply. No substitution offered or transfer to a third party is permitted. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to substitute a prize or portion of the prize for a prize of equal or greater value if a prize becomes unavailable. Prize cannot be redeemed for cash value. All fees, federal, state, local taxes or other expenses relating to the use, acceptance and possession of a prize are the sole responsibility of the winner. Limit: one (1) prize per person or household. Taxes are the responsibility of the winner. Arrangements for the fulfillment of a prize will be made by Sponsor and/or its designated agent. In the eventuality a winner cannot accept a prize for any reason whatsoever, no compensation or substitution will be provided, and the Sponsor shall have no further obligation. Prize will be awarded “AS IS”. No warranties expressed or implied outside of any standard manufacturer warranties applicable to any merchandise portion of prize, if any. Allow up to four (4) to six (6) weeks for delivery of prize.
WINNER SELECTION & ODDS: Winner will be selected in a random drawing of all eligible Entries received during the Entry Period within seventy-two (72) hours of the Entry Period deadline. At the sole discretion of the Sponsor, disqualification, forfeiture and the selection of an alternate winner may result from any of the following: [1] a potential winner’s failure to respond to the prize notification within seventy-two (72) hours of notification; [2] the return of any other notice as undeliverable; [3] a potential winner’s failure to provide Sponsor with satisfactory proof that they are the authorized account holder of the email associated with the winning Entry; [4] a potential winner’s failure to provide Sponsor with satisfactory proof of age, identity and residency; [5] a potential winner’s failure to validly claim the prize per the Sponsor’s notification and [6] any other non-compliance with Rules. In the event a prize is forfeited, the Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, award or not award the forfeited prize to an alternate winner. Random drawing will be conducted by Sponsor whose decisions are final and binding. Odds of winning a prize depends on the total number of eligible Entries received during the Entry Period.
PUBLICITY: Except where prohibited by law, entry and acceptance of a prize constitute permission for Sponsor and its agents to use the winner’s name, prize won, story, hometown, likeness, photograph(s), and statements for purposes of advertising, promotion and publicity (including online posting) in any and all media now or hereafter known throughout the world in perpetuity, without additional compensation, notification or permission.
RELEASE OF LIABILITY: By submitting your Entry, you agree to accept these Rules and agree to be bound by the decisions of the Sponsor, and on behalf of your respective heirs, executors, administrators, legal representatives, successors and assigns (“Releasing Parties”), release, defend and hold harmless the Releasees from any and all actions, causes of action, suits, debts, dues, sums of money, accounts, reckonings, bonds, bills, specialties, covenants, contracts, controversies, agreements, promises, variances, trespasses, lost profits, indirect or direct damages, consequential damages, incidental damages, punitive or exemplary damages, judgments, extent, executions, claims and demands whatsoever, in law, admiralty or equity, whether known or unknown, foreseen or unforeseen, against Releasees which any one or more of the Releasing Parties ever had, now have or hereafter can, shall or may have which in any way arise out of or result from entrant’s participation, acceptance and use or misuse of any prize. Sponsor is not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing of the offer, administration of the Sweepstakes or in the announcement of the prize. In the event Sponsor is prevented from continuing with the Sweepstakes as contemplated herein by any event beyond its control, or otherwise, including but not limited to fire, flood, earthquake, explosion, labor dispute or strike, pandemic, act of God or public enemy, satellite or equipment failure, riot or civil disturbance, terrorist threat or activity, war (declared or undeclared) or any federal, state, or local government law, order, or regulation, or order of any court, or other cause, Sponsor shall have the right to modify, suspend, extend or terminate the Sweepstakes.
In the event of a dispute as to the ownership of any Entry, the authorized holder of the email account used to enter will be deemed to be the entrant. The “authorized account holder” is the natural person assigned an email address by an online service provider or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses. Potential winner may be required to show proof of being the authorized email account holder. The Releasees are not responsible for: (i) lost, late, misdirected, damaged, incomplete, garbled, invalid or illegible Entries; (ii) error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operations or transmission, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of Entry materials, or for technical, network, telephone equipment, electronic, computer, hardware or software malfunctions of any kind, or inaccurate transmission of or failure to receive Entry information by Sponsor on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website or any combination thereof; (iii) any injury or damage to entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participating in the Sweepstakes, or (iv) the failure of any third party to comply with the instructions and proper administration of this Sweepstakes. By participating in the Sweepstakes, entrants (i) agree to be bound by these Rules, including all eligibility requirements, and (ii) agree to be bound by the decisions of Sponsor and the Artist and/or its management team, which are final and binding in all matters relating to the Sweepstakes. Failure to comply with these Rules may result in disqualification from the Sweepstakes. Sponsor reserves the right to: permanently disqualify from any Sweepstakes it sponsors any person it believes has intentionally violated these Rules; and terminate the Sweepstakes if it becomes technically corrupted (including if a computer virus or system malfunction inalterably impairs its ability to conduct the Sweepstakes), or to determine the winner from among all eligible Entries received prior to termination. LEGAL WARNING: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN INDIVIDUAL, WHETHER OR NOT AN ENTRANT, TO DELIBERATELY INTERFERE WITH THE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES, IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL & CIVIL LAWS AND SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES AND DILIGENTLY PURSUE ALL REMEDIES AGAINST ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
CHOICE OF LAW: This Sweepstakes is governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Tennessee applicable to contracts made and performed in the State of Tennessee without respect to conflict of law doctrines. As a condition of participating in this Sweepstakes, entrants agree that: (1) any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Sweepstakes or any Prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, exclusively before a court located in Tennessee having jurisdiction and entrants irrevocably consent to the Jurisdiction of the courts located in Tennessee and (2) UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL ENTRANT BE PERMITTED TO OBTAIN AWARDS FOR, AND ENTRANT HEREBY WAIVES ALL RIGHTS TO CLAIM, INDIRECT, PUNITIVE, INCIDENTAL AND CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES AND ANY OTHER DAMAGES, OTHER THAN FOR ACTUAL OUT-OF-POCKET EXPENSES, AND ANY AND ALL RIGHTS TO HAVE DAMAGES MULTIPLIED OR OTHERWISE INCREASED. SPONSOR’S TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY IN CONNECTION WITH THIS SWEEPSTAKES, WHETHER IN CONTRACT OR TORT OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, SHALL NOT EXCEED THE STATED ARV OF THE PRIZE OFFERED HEREUNDER. In the event that any provision of these Rules is held to be unenforceable, these Rules will continue in full force and effect without such provision. These Rules are intended to be the complete, final and exclusive statement of the terms of the agreement between each entrant and the Sponsor relating to the subject matter hereof.
By participating in this Sweepstakes, each Entrant located in the United States waives and relinquishes all rights and benefits afforded by California Civil Code 1542 and does so understanding and acknowledging the significance of this waiver. Section 1542 states as follows: “A GENERAL RELEASE DOES NOT EXTEND TO CLAIMS THAT THE CREDITOR OR RELEASING PARTY DID NOT KNOW OR SUSPECT TO EXIST IN HIS OR HER FAVOR AT THE TIME OF EXECUTING THE RELEASE AND THAT, IF KNOWN, BY HIM OR HER, WOULD HAVE MATERIALLY AFFECTED HIS OR HER SETTLEMENT WITH THE DEBTOR OR THE RELEASED PARTIES.”
